The idea of the bike trip began in a conversation between Michael Blunk and David Landis during the summer of 2007. David and Michael met outside of Souderton, PA to brainstorm possible ways of combining bicycling and mutual reconciliation and understanding between Israelis and Palestinians. Over the next few months, a vision began to emerge involving cycling and the collection and documentation of stories. In the Spring, Evan Parks was invited to participate on the tour. Evan lives in Atlanta, Georgia, David is currently in Israel and Michael lives in Boston, Massachusetts. All three are avid bicyclists and concerned individuals devoted to peacemaking.
