EPIC (Exploring Palestine and Israel in Conversation) Pedal Project is a bike tour initiative involving the documentation of stories collected from Israelis and Palestinians. EPIC’s proposal is to take a bicycling trip through the region in July of 2008, crossing through the border checkpoints to engage people from both sides in questions and conversations about their lives.

Most basic of these questions are: How do you as an Israeli or Palestinian live in the midst of such conflict and turmoil? What is normal, day-to-day life like? What are the perceptions of the ‘other’? How have the concepts of hope and despair been altered due to a reality of uncertainty and danger?

This bike trip and the stories collected will be documented in written, oral and video form. The objective is to create a multi-media presentation of the trip to be used as an educational tool for interested individuals and organizations.
